Masham Town Hall. For better preventing the horrid crime of murder: gibbets, dissection & the bodies of executed criminals. Dr Sarah Tarlow. Dr Sarah tarlow is senior lecturer in Archaelogy at Leicester University. between the sixteenth & the nineteenth century people convicted of particularly serious crimes could be sentenced not only to death but also to various post-mortem punishments, principally public dissection by by anatomists or being displayed in a gibbet cage. Sue Proctor - The Diocese - the Good, the Bad and Hopes for the Future Masham Sports' Pavilion Sue was appointed the Ripon and Leeds Diocesan Secretary in autumn 2010, In this role she leads on the financial, property, governance and many strategic programmes for our diocese. Prior to this role she was Chief Nurse for Yorkshire and Humber NHS, and had worked in healthcare for over 25 years. Sue lives in Masham with husband, Phil. She worships at St Mary's and is a member of the PCC. She has a life-long relationship with the church, as the eldest daughter in a clergy household. Canon David Lickess - Will we be ever be one ? Masham Sports' Pavilion A series of high and low points in ecumenical relations and moves towards Christian unity over the past one hundred years. David was ordained in 1965 and served all his fullltime ministry in the York diocese, including thirty seven years as Vicar of Hutton Rudby, from where he retired to Snape in 2007. He is a Canon of York Minster and has held various posts in the diocese, including Rural Dean of Stokesley. He was a member of the Church of England's 'Parliament', General Synod, from 1985-2005, and its Council for Christian Unity for ten years. David has also represented the Church of England on the national ecumenical body, Churches Together in England, at Methodist Conferences, at discussions with Roman Catholics in this country and in Belgium, and he is in the Abbot of Ampleforth's group. Masham Sports Pavilion His Honour Judge David Bryant : 'Morality and the Law David was called to the Bar in 1964; he practised on the North East Circuit from 1965 to 1989, serving as a Recorder from 1985 to 1989 and as a circuit judge from 1989 to 2007. David was the Designated Family Judge at Teeside from 1995 to 2007 and was in charge of Family Justice for Cleveland, South Durham and the northern part of North Yorkshire. he now serves as a deputy circuit judge and a member of the Parole Board.
