Grewelthorpe C of E Primary School

Grewelthorpe CE Primary School is a place where young children grow into self-confident 11 years olds ready to go forward with their educational lives. A lot happens in between, and we pride ourselves on giving the very best opportunities for children to learn both socially, physically and emotionally as well as intellectually. The school received special recognition this year as we were in the top 3% nationally for our phonics test results and we have been in the top 10-20% of schools nationally for several years for our SAT results at year 6. Our staff are highly skilled and our curriculum was recognised as being ‘outstanding’ by OFSTED. We have achieved a National Award for our curriculum and have shared what we do with other schools across the country. Our children leave school with a wealth of knowledge and skills, including being able to play at least one musical instrument.
We have a Foundation Stage Unit enabling children to start from 3 years old. Learning through play is the vital part of the foundation stage. We plan for a wide range of different types of challenging and stimulating activities and experiences to build on your child’s existing knowledge and expand it though new learning experiences. We take into account a child’s individual needs, their interests and choices and there is a balance between adult led and child initiated activities.
If you are interested in a place for your child please contact the school for further details, to book an appointment to look around or to request an admission pack. We are now taking bookings for the September 2018 and beyond for nursery age children. If your child is of nursery age remember you may now be eligible to receive 30 hours of free funded provision.

Staying independent.

Staying independent.

Did you know that as well as Sheltered housing like Maple Creek in Masham, Harrogate Borough Council independent living services also provide support to help older and more vulnerable residents to stay safe and independent in their own home?
We can provide and install a Lifeline unit that is plugged into your phone line to summon help quickly and easily
in an emergency.
Once you push the red button (worn on your wrist or round your neck) our experienced  call centre will speak to you through the Lifeline box and summon help, be that family, friends,
a Doctor, carers or emergency services
or the Independent Living Officer on call.
Our team also keeps in touch every month to check the equipment  and make sure all is well.
If you are interested in finding out more about Lifeline or Sheltered housing for yourself or a family member, please contact Harrogate Borough Council.
