David Starley at the Blue Light Gallery

David is an archaeologist turned professional artist, based in Saltaire, West Yorkshire.
Subject matter includes the landscape of Yorkshire and beyond. In recent years, trees have
become the central focus of his work. By portraying the forms and character of individual
specimens, or groups in woodland.
David’s exhibition runs from Saturday 19th January until Friday 15th February 2019.

Clare is returning to the Blue Light Gallery, exhibiting her amazing talent of paper cutting, using just paper to depict scenes of her home county. She doesn’t use scale and perspective but relies on the layering of paper to give a hint of depth to her work.

Edward Threapleton a retired RAF Group Captain, spent many years flying over the North of England in RAF Air Defence fighter aircraft and, more recently, in Dassault Falcon involved in Electronic Warfare Training. He has a whole catalogue of interesting experiences gained during his 40 year career in aviation. One of the most memorable was his involvement in an airborne rescue of a civilian aircraft in serious danger in the skies above northern Britain for which he received a Queen’s Commendation for Bravery in the air. He will give an illustrated talk about this incident and his involvement in the little known world of airborne electronic warfare.
