Simon is one of Masham’s well known decorators, having learned his trade with Blades & Sons Decorators in the town after leaving school. Simon started his own decorating business thirteen years ago and his meticulous attention to detail means that his diary is always chockablock with work! Simon is a keen member of Masham tennis club and plays tennis competitively as well as socially – you’ll often find him scoring aces on a Sunday morning on the rec!

2. How long have you lived in Masham? – 43 years
3. Three things you’d recommend a visitor to do in Masham & surrounding area:-
• Walk down the river to the fisherman’s hut, sit on the bench and take a moment to enjoy the river and peaceful surroundings
• Take a brewery tour and sample some of the fine ale is a MUST!
• Walk around Druid’s Temple and have a bite to eat at the cafe at The Bivouac
4. What’s your favourite thing to do, or place to visit around Masham? – Everything! I enjoy playing tennis, taking the children to the park, walking the dog along the river and watching the cricket on the cricket field. Followed by a coffee in one of the cafes on the market square.
5. What’s your favourite shop in or around Masham? – The children would say Bah Humbugs – the best sweet shop ever, but for me it has to be Roger’s butchers, great for pies and sausage rolls.
6. Where’s your favourite place to eat in or around Masham? – We’re spoiled for choices in Masham. Great pubs for a family tea, Vennell’s for something extra special and great cafes for lunches, coffee and cakes.
7. Did you know………? The clock face of St Mary’s Church was hand painted and gold leafed by me fifteen years ago – great views from up there!
