Masham Community Library

During a lockdown situation, Masham Community Library has offers a “select & collect” service as we are closed to the public for browsing. At other times we are open for browsing in person so please drop in. Further info below…

You can pre-select up to 6 books per person and collect them from Mashamshire Community Office. Complete the Select & Collect form stating how many of which type you would like. You can suggest named authors but, if we do not have any in stock, we will select some similar writers. If you want only a particular title, we will have to reserve it from another library as before – this could take some time. You can also include a wild card option!

When NOT in a lockdown situation, we are open for browsing in person between 10:00am and midday, Mon-Fri. This service is subject to the following:

    • Only 1 adult or 1 adult and 1 child will be admitted at a time so waiting downstairs may be required.
    • Face coverings must be worn unless you are exempt.
    • Hand sanitizing on entry is required and social distancing adhered to at all times.
    • Wheelchair access is available but please telephone prior to your visit – 01765 680204.
    • Please hand returned books to the volunteer greeting you at the main door




Masham Library was saved from closure in 2012 when Mashamshire Community Office and its volunteers stepped in. The new Community Library is now housed on the first floor of Mashamshire Community Office, run by a team of new volunteers it now enjoys longer opening hours and better access than the old library thanks to our lovely lift!

The Library is open from 10:00am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday and until 2.00pm on Saturdays.
