Chris Bannister

Grewelthorpe Village Hall, Lake Terrace, Grewelthorpe, HG4 3BU
19:00 - 23:00

An evening with Chris Bannister is an evening of rare quality and it is easy to see how he has gained an international reputation which has delighted fans for over two decades, including a ‘Record of the Week’ accolade from BBC Radio 2 for his single ‘We Were Children’.

We are therefore delighted to be welcoming Chris back to Grewelthorpe Village Hall on Saturday 2nd November after his sell-out concert here in 2021. Last time Chris entertained us with the music of John Denver, a genre he performs with incredible faithfulness – though not aspiring to be a tribute. Tonight’s show, ‘A Songwriter’s Legacy’, will include his own compositions, such as ‘If there’s ever a time’, and tracks from his huge repertoire of music from the likes of Gordon Lightfoot, Dylan, Beatles, Cat Stevens, Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon and Nick Drake. We are looking forward to another great evening with Chris in November – we hope to see you there.

Tickets (£12) are now on sale at the Village Hall Cafe or online at https://www.wegottickets.com/grewelthorpe.

Doors open 7pm, on stage 8pm. Grewelthorpe Village Hall is an all seated (at table) venue so if you wish to sit with friends please arrive early. There will be a bar selling a range of beers, lagers, wines and non-alcoholic drinks.

Special Kinda Madness

Masham Town Hall, Little Market Place, Masham
19:30 - 23:00

2 Bands … 2-Tone … 1 Fantastic Night!

Special Kinda Madness perform a truly authentic set from each band, combining the phenomenally energetic stage presence of The Specials with the wonderful iconic tunes of the Madness ‘Nutty Boys’. Playing a set from each band and producing a show that will have the audience up and dancing from the off, Special Kinda Madness will have everyone hankering after that exciting era of 2-Tone and ska.

On 21st July 1979 at the Electric Ballroom in London, the Specials played a gig with Madness, Dexy’s Midnight Runners and Selecter. That’s a gig that all 2-Tone rude boys and rude girls would die to see, and thought would never happen. The Specials and Madness on the same bill!

In truth, it will probably never happen now … but you can get the next best thing with Special Kinda Madness!

“I’ve been to many concerts/tribute tours in my time and this was by far and away the best concert ever. Absolutely brilliant!” – Brett Miller

Doors 7pm, on stage 8pm. There will be seating and standing/dancefloor available. Please arrive early to be guaranteed a seat if you need one.

Tickets £15, at Masham Community Office, 01765-680200.
