Wednesday Welcome Group

Set up initially for people living with dementia and their carers, we are now open to anyone who wants to get out of the house, have people to talk to, share activities with and have a good laugh.  We play dominos, darts and indoor sports such as bowls and quoits.  Try a variety of crafts, sing and sometimes just sit and chat, the choice is yours and we are always open to fresh ideas.  We keep some helpful information and can connect you with other agencies who may be able to help.

We are supported by Carers Resource and Dementia Forward.

We are a friendly, kind and supportive WI, part of North Yorkshire West Federation. Fearby and Healey are two villages local to Masham, however we now have members from a wide surrounding area, and we hold our meetings in Masham Town Hall. We are always pleased to welcome new members or visitors to our meetings. We always have a competition at each meeting connected to the topic of the night. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm, unless alternative times and venues are stated.

Masham Strollers

Wellbeing walks are short (approximately 30-40 minutes), accessible, friendly, free walks around Masham suitable for those that are new or returning to activity. All walks are led by trained walk leaders, will take place over easy ground, although there may be some uneven surfaces/pavements, around the streets, alleys and open green spaces in Masham. They are circular starting at Mashamshire Community Office every Friday morning, meeting from 10am for a 10.10am start. After the walk join us at the Town Hall for tea/coffee/biscuits kindly sponsored by Morrisons, Ripon.

Made in Motor-City

We are delighted to welcome back this superb live band playing Motown classics for a Christmas treat!

It was the beat of a generation and the sound of a nation. Made in Motor-City aim to recreate the classic music and sounds created by Tamla-Motown in Detroit during the 1960s and 70s.

The eight-piece band includes high-quality musicians dedicated to recreating authentically the sounds of the Motor City, fronted by three incredible female vocalists. If you’re a fan of The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Martha Reeves, The Marvelettes, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson and the rest of Motown’s legendary, this is a show not to be missed. Sit back and enjoy the songs the were Made in the Motor-City!
