Kirkby Malzeard’s Big Weekend
This year a big community group is running a new event with something for everyone with an open and warm invitation for visitors, with street food, live music, artisan stalls, youth disco, parade, a scarecrow trail, a dog show & scurry and a great deal more. The more sporty can enter the first 11k Crackpots run, the mini mosaic walk and the many activities being held on the extensive Playing Fields. The Big Weekend will round off at the village pub, The Queens Head with an all age Karaoke and BBQ.
Tickets for the Live Music on Saturday including the Hyde Family Jam are from www.wegottickets.com/event/581502. Costs are from £12 per head, £25 per family, £22 ticket & Ripon return bus.
The Crackpots Trail Run is a brand new event for runners of all abilities with a mixed terrain route starting from Kirkby Malzeard 10.30am on Sunday. The undulating route has been put together, tried and tested by local trail running vets and takes in quiet country roads, off-road trails, scenic moorland and a few rivers within Nidderdale AONB. The route will be fully marshalled and way marked with no need to navigate and to minimise the impact on the natural world the event is plastic bottle free.
