The beautiful town of Masham will be bursting with family friendly fun from 6th-8th June as businesses, community groups and locals come together to put on a programme of family friendly activities to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day. There will be prizes for best dressed, best decorated home and shop windows so save the date and get involved!

Thursday 6th June
8:00am – Proclamation (Market Square)
6:00pm – St Mary’s Church Service: Outdoor service at the War Memorial to mark 80 years since D-Day with the Royal British Legion.
6:30pm – Peal of Bells (St Mary’s Church)
7:00pm – D-Day in Masham (St Mary’s Church): Discover the many stories and exhibits from those who experienced D-Day. There will also be space in the church for members of the public to share stories/photos and items from the time.
Join others for a Tot of Rum and Harry’s Fish & Chips supper (to be pre-ordered with Lesley Hunter or at the Community Office), £10 per ticket.

Saturday 8th June
8:00am-2:00pm – Saturday Market (Market Square)
10:00am-10:45am – Little Lambs (St Mary’s Church): Stories, songs and play for toddlers and pre-school. Cafe open.
10:45am-11:15am – Singing for Fun for Children (St Mary’s Church)
10:30am-3:00pm – Coffee and Memorabilia (Methodist Church)
10:00am-4:00pm – Making of Mashamshire Exhibition (The Town Hall): Masham shops and businesses in the 1940s

2:00pm-4:00pm – Taster Sports Sessions including Tennis, Bowls, Boules and 5-a-side Football, football teams can register with Mashamshire Community Office (Masham Tennis Courts and Masham Sports Ground)
4:00pm-7:00pm – BBQ and Bar (Masham Sports Association Club House) – Enjoy a relaxing drink and bite to eat to round off the day or Bring Your Own and cook on the Community BBQ
6:00pm – Wellie Wanging and Egg Throwing (Masham Sports Association)
