Since taking early retirement from teaching, Margaret has discovered a love of felt making and has been making bags, jewellery, pictures, vessels and garments in various wools for the past seventeen years. Her favourite fibre is Blue-faced Leicester. She also incorporates Merino and Masham fleeces into her designs. Whilst she enjoys drawing, painting and Batik she finds the versatility of wool fibres delightful for they offer such possibilities, both in 2D and 3D. Margaret is particularly inspired by the landscape, flora and fauna of the North York Moors and its coastline.
This is Margaret’s first exhibition at the Blue Light Gallery, running from Saturday 30th May until Friday 3rd July.
