Captured Memories, 1900-1945 – Dr Peter Liddle
Peter will share memories of the past made vivid in the words of the men and women themselves. Some of these recollections will be selected from people quite well-known by reputation. Examples will be from pre-1914, then 1914-1918, followed by the Thirties and the Second World War.
Dr Liddle is an historian who has specialised in the rescue of personal experience evidence of the first half of the 20th century and in particular of the two world wars. His work on the Great War is preserved as the Liddle Collection of First World War Archival Materials at the Brotherton Library in the University of Leeds and that on the 1939-45 War in the Second World War Experience Centre at Walton.
Non members are very welcome and are charged £3 per meeting.
