Medieval Hunting – Richard Almond
Richard will talk about a general look at hunting and hawking in the European Middle Ages, using contemporary images and literary evidence, concerning what was hunted; who hunted and the main methods of taking quarry by the social elites and commonality. The time span covered is about 1200 – 1600. Richard is an independent scholar and self-employed art historian whose main research area since 1990 has been in studying and interpreting the art historical and literary evidence for medieval hunting and hawking.
Meetings are held in Masham Town Hall and begin at 7.30pm. non members are very welcome and are charged £3.00 per meeting.
