John Marshall will speak to us about his 1914 army lorry that survived the war, service in Hansley brick works and poppies growing in its back axle. John found it, embarked on its restoration and took it back to Ypres with a new “peel” of bells for St. Georges Church.
John is self-employed as a vintage and veteran motor vehicle restorer who was drawn to this poignant project as something of a “busman’s holiday”. Sadly the lorry doesn’t fit in the hall – but will be outside!
Non-members are welcome and are charged £3.00 per meeting.
