Nae Plans and Andreas Tophoj & Rune Barsland

Masham Town Hall, Little Market Place, Masham
19:00

Two brilliantly creative duos, Scotland’s Nae Plans (Adam Sutherland and Hamish Napier) and Denmark’s Andreas Tophøj & Rune Barslund, combine forces for a captivating night of music, song and stories, following their earlier sell-out concert and collaboration at Scotland’s prestigious Celtic Connections festival. Taking their cue from the spontaneity of the traditional music session, two of Scotland’s finest folk musicians, Hamish Napier (piano, flute, whistle, vocals) and Adam Sutherland (fiddle) come together as ‘Nae Plans’. With raw creativity and outstanding musical intuition, these innovative artists blend self-penned music and songs with the traditional, putting the audience at the centre of a dynamic and engaging performance. Contemporary Danish folk music is renowned for its inventive interplay with other traditions and genres, and the young fiddle/viola/accordion duo of Andreas Tophøj & Rune Barslund are among those leading the charge. Andreas and Rune splice Nordic, Celtic and Americana influences into sparkling original compositions. It is in live performances especially that these musicians shine, sharing music and stories that stay in audiences’ memories long after the last note has sounded.
