Noble Prospects: Capability Brown and the Yorkshire Landscape – Karen Lynch

Masham Town Hall, Little Market Place, Masham
19:30

2016 sees the tercentenary of the birth of Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown and to mark the occasion the Yorkshire Gardens Trust are presenting an exhibition in partnership with the Mercer Art Gallery, Harrogate. Running from June to September, the exhibition will be the first time Brown’s work in the county has been considered as a whole and will feature original drawings, documents and plans by Brown as well as paintings of his landscapes and major artworks that inspired his vision.
Karen Lynch grew up in Northumberland, Brown’s home county, and has been a fan of the man and his work since primary school. She is curating the exhibition for the Yorkshire Gardens Trust and writing the accompanying book.
