Mischief Makers, inspired by the much-loved children’s title Beano, is this year’s Summer Reading Challenge theme. Children will explore a map of Beanotown to find the mysterious buried treasure and become ultimate mischief makers! Dennis, Gnasher and friends will help them solve clues and collect stickers, having lots of fun and adventures along the way!
Taking part is simple – when your summer holidays start, all 4-11 year olds can sign up at Masham Community Library from Saturday 14th July until Saturday 8th September with the last date to register on Saturday 18th August. Read six library books of your choice to complete the Challenge. There are lots of goodies and rewards to collect along the way, and it’s FREE to take part! The first 30 completers at Masham Library will receive a mischievous goodie bag, generously donated by the Masham Co-Op, Leyburn Road. If you’re not already a Library member, why not join to enjoy the Challenge?
On Thursday 26th July, join us for Mischief Making Crafts from 10.00-11.30am. No need to book, just turn up.
For more information, call into the Library between 10am and 3pm, Monday-Friday and on Saturdays between 10am and 2pm or call 01765 680204.

Amanda Newell produces a wide variety of quirky birds and animals in copper foil stained glass. The stunning Yorkshire landscapes and huge array of wildlife are the driving force behind Amanda’s work, inspiring her to produce British birds and wildlife in unusual streaky and textured art glasses that accurately reflect the subject.
Amanda’s exhibition runs from Saturday 7th July – Friday 3rd August 2018.
For more information or if you would like to exhibit at the Blue Light Gallery, please get in touch. Tel: 01765 680200. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org.

Sue grew up on a farm in Lincolnshire which is where her love of art and nature began. Surrounded by animals and beautiful scenery, she began to paint and draw anything that moved …and quite a lot that didn’t! Entirely self-taught, but influenced by impressionist painters such as Degas and Monet, Sue fell in love with their vibrancy, texture and versatility. As well as taking commissions, Sue now teaches local art groups and runs her own courses in pastel painting.
Range of quality crafts and gifts including hand crafted table lamps, bowls, clocks, greetings cards, knitted garments, cushions, fashion jewellery in latest designs, Dales paintings and much more.
