English National Sheepdog Trials

Jervaulx Abbey, Jervaulx,

150 of England’s top handlers and dogs will be at Jervaulx Abbey competing to become English National Champion 2018.
The top 15 dogs over the 3 days will form the English Team and go on to represent England at the International and World Trials.
8am start. Entry £5.00 at the gate (Under 16s free)
Trade stands, Craft tent, Children’s corner, Food and drink will also be on offer over the 3 days.

Amanda Newell produces a wide variety of quirky birds and animals in copper foil stained glass. The stunning Yorkshire landscapes and huge array of wildlife are the driving force behind Amanda’s work, inspiring her to produce British birds and wildlife in unusual streaky and textured art glasses that accurately reflect the subject.
Amanda’s exhibition runs from Saturday 7th July – Friday 3rd August 2018.

Dress up or put on Studfold’s Fairy wings and Pixie hat and discover stories and explore 20+ tiny fairy/pixie houses. Explore the ‘Great Outdoors’ and discover Studfold’s Hidden secrets – find clues, secret boxes, swap treasure and discover so many countryside experiences along the way. Suitable for all primary and pre-school children and their parents and parents parents!
Do not forget to bring a picnic and something to leave in the treasure swap box. Price £6 adult, £5 child, under 3 free. Have a tasty snack at Studfold’s Nidderdale Way Cafe or email to pre-order a picnic. Last Admission 3.30pm.

Mark Watson

A former Cambridge Footlighter, Mark Watson first made an impact on the comedy circuit in 2002 when he won the Daily Telegraph Open Mic competition and was a runner-up in So You Think You’re Funny?
He has become known for his Edinburgh shows and his gruelling shows that last more than 24 hours. Watson won the Chortle award winner for innovation in 2005, when he was also nominated for best breakthrough act, and was nominated for best compere in 2007. He is also a novelist, with his debut Bullet Points, published in 2003; has written for TV and in 2007 landed his first radio series, Mark Watson Makes The World Substantially Better.
