Summer Walk through the Thornborough Landscape

Thornborough Henges, Thornborough,

To support the Council for British Archaeology’s annual July celebration of British Archaeology, you are invited to join the Thornborough Heritage Trust on a Guided Walk through the Thornborough Henges Landscape.
The day is divided into 2 parts:
10.45am – Arrive at Norton Conyers, Wath, Nr Ripon, HG4 5EQ
11am – Private guided tour of the Gardens of Norton Conyers, famous for its connections with the Brontes, with refreshments and talk in the Orangery
12.30pm – Depart by car for West Tanfield Village Hall and Car Park
Lunch – please bring picnic lunch (or pubs/cafe in the village)
1.30pm – Guided Walk and Tour of the Thornborough Henges and the southern long barrow. This will be an accompanied walk with an opportunity to learn about its 4000 year history and its significance within the wider landscape
3.30-5.30pm – Tea in the Village Hall with talk about the Thornborough Henges, their landscape and prehistoric story
