Tour de Yorkshire cycle race takes place from Thursday 2nd-Sunday 5th May 2019 and the cyclists will “fly” through the middle of Masham on Sunday 5th – Stage 4 of the race. The Men’s race is expected in Masham at around 3.15pm, in the middle of a fearsome 175km route from Halifax to Leeds via Kettlewell and Middleham.
We have an expanded market and farmers market in the Market Place. Masham’s cafes and pubs are offering outdoor food and local ales, hot drinks and picnic tables and the Church and Chapel are open for exploration and contemplation.
The publicity “caravane” is due in Masham at 1.55pm. There is a rolling roadblock a few minutes either side of the riders – the route will be closed to traffic from around 2.45-4pm.
Visitor parking is available on the Shooting Holme, HG4 4DS (by Masham Bridge) for a suggested £5 charitable donation.
Unique and stylish Masham TdY flags (100x70cm) available to buy from Mashamshire Community Office for £6.
