Burn off your Christmas excesses and come stretch your legs on our guided winter walk at Hackfall Woods. Led by local woodland aficionado Paul Randall, you’ll learn about the work the Trust has done to preserve and restore this glorious Dales stronghold for kingfishers, dippers and grey wagtails. Clamber the fairytale gullies, and wander the banks of the River Ure, which has inspired poets and painters through the ages – including romantic watercolourist JMW Turner. Following a bracing walk, we’ll retreat to the cosy community cafe at Grewelthorpe for a cuppa!
Meet at Grewelthorpe Village Cafe. Booking is essential via the Woodland Trust events page. £5.00 per person.
