Telephone Befriending – volunteer befrienders needed

The past two years have highlighted the need to support people within our community that have been socially disconnected, experiencing social isolation and loneliness. We would like to offer a telephone befriending service to reduce these feelings, especially amongst older people. Volunteers are required to ring an older person to check on them and build a friendship. It’s a fun, safe and easy way to get to know someone new from the comfort of your own home. What impact would I have? It could be that you’re the only person they speak to that day, or even that week. If you are a chatty and empathetic person and could spare an hour a week to make a difference to someone’s day please get in touch and we can chat further.
